The Association of Directory Publishers (ADP), the trade association that provides its members with thought leadership, research, and industry best practices, is excited to share an update about its future with you. We are focused on improving our 100-year-old organization.
On August 20, 2024, our publisher members voted on amending our bylaws, changing our due structure and approving our 2024-2025 budget.
The proposed changes passed, here is a summary of the key changes:
- Transparency – All members will be welcome to attend board meetings.
- Equality in Dues – Annual dues are set based on your membership type. Dues will no longer be based on the member’s annual revenue.
- Membership – Amended bylaws outlining more business types eligible to join ADP.
- Voting Rights – All members of ADP will be able to vote.
- Mission Statement – An updated mission statement dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all types of businesses.
The new bylaws passed, our new mission statement will be as follows:
ADP is an organization of like-minded online and offline marketing professionals dedicated to supporting the marketing community by promoting education, fairness, and transparency in all forms of advertising. This unique approach positions ADP to bring publishers, marketers, and vendors together for the greater good.
We would like to announce the appointment of the new Board of Directors.

With great pride, we announce that the Association of Directory Publishers (ADP) will continue under new leadership and is strongly committed to expanding its membership.
The board has thoroughly reviewed our past successes and shortcomings. We discovered that many decisions were made solely by Publisher Members, which excluded other members and discouraged many current and potential members from participating.
As mentioned above, we have revised our bylaws to grant voting rights to ALL members to foster a more inclusive environment. This change, which has never been addressed before, aims to give every company involved in the association – whether a publisher, printer, production company, distributor, listings provider, online directory company or digital service provider – a say in the organization’s direction.
In response to feedback, we have simplified and lowered our dues schedule to be more equitable and affordable. This ensures we can continue operations without a full-time employee while covering essential costs.
